Jets fans received the news they didn’t want to hear this morning when coach Rex Ryan announced that All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis had indeed torn his ACL in New York’s overtime win against the Miami Dolphins yesterday.

An MRI earlier today confirmed the tear in Revis’ ACL. Ryan furthermore said that surgery will hopefully occur in two to three weeks. This all but concludes Revis’ season, an unfortunate event in the Jets’ 2012 campaign.

This will be a tremendous wakeup call for backup defensive back Kyle Wilson, who must step up and attempt to fill the void left by Revis, arguably the league’s best cornerback.

Will the Jets regain composure and fight on following the loss of their best player? Or will this loss set the tone for the rest of the season?

  1. =( .. I just hope he comes back next year as the same player he was during his entire career. Rex Ryan is supposed to be a Defensive Guru? Well he better prove it now because the Jets are in trouble.

  2. I agree about Rex. He needs to put that defensive mind of his back to work. Plus I think Wilson should’ve learned plenty from Revis by now. The rumor was that Revis had alot to do with the drafting of Wilson. I think the next two weeks will tell us plenty about my JETS!!
