Need help utilizing the tight ends in your offense? Check out our New Madden 13 tip! In this tip, we are going to look at the Shotgun Ace Formation out of Detroit and New England’s offensive playbook. The method that we are going to show you works in any set in which you have a tight end on the field. However, a set like Ace is extremely effective because our opponent has to worry about 2 Tight Ends at the same time. This can work just as good in Single back Ace as well.
Shotgun Ace – Any Play
1. Put your Tight ENd’s on Streak Routes – Up on the DPad + Receiver Icon + Up on the DPad
2. Put your Outside WR’s on Drag Routes – Up on the Dpad + Receiver Icon + Down on the Right Stick
3. Put your Running back on a delay route to the flats – Up on the Dpad + Receiver Icon + Down on the Right Stick (The standard delay curl route works good also.. especially against zone.)
Look at the defensive coverage and assume that they are in man. Pre snap, we can pretty much tell if we should precision pass to the inside or the outside. In a set like 43, the OLB’s are lined up to the inside of the tight end. This means we can throw an outside precision pass. In Dime, The def backs are lined up to the outside of the tight end. This means we can throw an inside precision pass. This even works against zone due to how easy it is to precision pass in Madden 13. The 2 Streaks / 2 Drags combo is deadly in Madden 13.
