The Chicago Bears go into the 2012-2013 with a very intriguing team. A team known for their stout defense, is now looking surprisingly stronger on the offensive end. Matt Forte, and Brandon Marshall are both Top 5 in their positions, and Jay Cutler is no slouch either. Cutler actually has had great success playing alongside Marshall in their Denver days. Not to mention the speedsters, Devin Hester and Johnny Knox, to go along with rookie wide out Alshon Jeffery and Earl Bennett; the Bears receiving core is at their prime. But are they good enough to win the Superbowl? Brandon Marshall thinks so!
“This is just between us, so keep it here,” said Marshall, before dropping two more words: “Super Bowl.”
Brandon Marshall has said and done some pretty outlandish things over the past few years. However, I see nothing wrong with his claim this time. I truly believe the Bears really are THAT GOOD. They were a 7-3 football team last year before suffering multiple injuries. Their stock can only go up from what we seen last season. The only weakness I notice with the Bears is their offensive line. A line that got crushed against the Detroit Lions in the beginning of the year. But with a few adjustments, like screen plays, 3 step drops, draws, and moving the pocket with Cutler’s mobility, the issues were patched up. Another issue that the Bears have, going into next season, is playing in arguably the toughest division. You have to naturally assume that the Packers will win the division, so grabbing one of the Wildcard spots is an obvious necessity. With all that said, barring injuries, I’m going to make a statement as well. The Chicago Bears will represent the NFC in the Superbowl. Who will they be playing against? The Jets of course! No but really, I believe the Houston Texans will make it out of the AFC
