Everyone’s favorite time of year is here, preseason football! Okay, I’m kidding, but ask any hardcore NFL fan and they’ll tell you they will be watching. With the season around the corner, many will tune into the preseason for all the intriguing story lines each team has to offer. Whether it’s watching your team adapt to new head coach’s system, position battles, and rookies showcasing their abilities, there is always something to gain from watching these games as a fan. Also, as a tip for Madden 13 fans, we get a chance to see all of the physically and athletically gifted players who are struggling to make the team. Even though the player might have a low overall, they can still impact your team in a positive way. Below is an early preview for each of the games slated for tonight, Thursday August 9th, 2012.

Washington Redskins at Buffalo Bills, 7PM ET

Do I really need to discuss this game? RGIII is all you need to know. Everyone is anxious to see how the young signal caller fairs in his first NFL competitive action. Will he flop or raise his hype meter even higher?

Baltimore Ravens at Atlanta Falcons, 7PM ET

Eyes will be on fellow Quarterback’s Joe Flacco and Matt Ryan for however long they do play. Can these two QBs show early signs of greatness to shut up all their critics?

New Orleans Saints at New England Patriots, 7PM ET

-Offense, offense, offense, and some more offense. This is most likely what we will get out of the first team starters. However, a lot of Saints fans will be interested to see how the team looks without the guidance of HC Sean Payton (suspension) and if QB Drew Brees shows any rust from his long holdout. With the departure of BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Patriots fans are scouting out all their potential starting running backs for week 1. Should be an exciting exhibition.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Philadelphia Eagles, 7PM ET

The battle of Pennsylvania is almost upon us. Without Mike Wallace playing with the first team due to his lengthy holdout, Steelers fans are hoping they can find their Victor Cruz in the meantime. Which young Steelers receiver can start to make a name for himself? As for the Eagles, how will they respond as a team in the aftermath of Garret Reid’s death?

Green Bay Packers at San Diego Chargers, 8PM ET

After his breakout season, WR Jordy Nelson put himself on the map. Many sources have been quoted throughout training camp stating, Jordy Nelson has been the best player in camp. For as long as he is out there tonight, fantasy football junkies will be scouting him to see where to draft him. ::cough:: :cough:: VERY HIGH. Turning to the Chargers, have they found their new Darren Sproles in Michael Hayes? The rookie out of Houston will try and make a big splash this evening. Another player to watch is Robert Meachem, perhaps a product of a lethal passing attack in New Orleans with many weapons, Meachem looks to prove he can be the primary target for a good team.

Denver Broncos at Chicago Bears. 8:30PM ET

Peyton Manning. Okay Bears fans, yes, we want to watch Brandon Marshall too. Don’t be jealous.
