Gun Doubles Hip - Not in Top 3 but Adding this in to show plays since I had this in Top 3 for Giants. I actually really like this formation. Its a Stack look on the left so you can definitely quick pass kind of like we did last year in Double Stack. You're truly not missing much with this one

Very similar to Tight Y off, but the TE is on the line with his hand in the dirt here, and the solo WR is off the line. PA Go Slot cross stands out, but the crosser is more shallow. I actually preferred this version a little more than the standard Tight Y Off version. Flood Drive is a nice way to attack the strong side of the formation as well as the middle of the field. Levels has a pivot by the doubles WR. Switch drag has a short corner and a backside deep post. You can also motion the doubles wr to the TE side and create a bunch nasty look. Bench angle has a rb angle and a glitchy C route on the weak side. It’s a really nice formation, but it’s missing some deep corners to attack all areas of the field. has corners everywhere, pivots, and a compressed deep post. It’s a quick audible from hip and can attack every area of the field. The TE is off the line and the rb is on his opposite side so protection should be great. These two sets alone could be a scheme in and of itself. The play spot y middle has a glitchy angle route by the TE. An old favorite that was really good in M19. PA post dig shot allows you to max pro and have deep routes down the field. A true vertical passing play. Corner strike is a great way to attack either sideline. PA WR in has the S post by the outside WR. You can motion him in so he doesn’t get pressed (these S posts are better than they were in years past). Outs is a great quick snap play. That post is perfect at attacking the middle of the field and the rest of the routes space nicely to attack both sidelines simultaneously. Cross has a deep cross, a deep dig to follow and the RB is on a ghost. Deep out has the outside wr on a deep post that you can motion in. Verticals is here and the best play may be Stick n up. The solo Wr is on a sharp post that can be hit in the middle of the field or late on the sideline. The slot WR is on an inverted whip. Honestly, the reason this hasn’t been great the last few years is the inability to beat man and protect all at once. If this is a zone meta year, this formation could make a real comeback. You have y trail, dagger, flanker drive, mesh flat spot and pa bunch shot. Don’t think this is an enough to run full time, but with the formations previously mentioned, it’s a nice formation to have. Â

A Madden Daily favorite, this is the best Gun tight in the game. EA has basically removed tight and offset te from a bunch of books. This one has all the plays the Jets book did last year, except for Seams. They also added a read option run. Running this in the beta, it still felt really good. Have to see if motion blocking will pick up heat like it did last year. There are still so many good plays. However, one big drawback is the ability to flip the formation quickly. In the past, only the RB would switch sides. Now the te will flip as well, making this way slower and playing mind games with your opponent won’t be the same. I don’t believe this will be the meta but it can still be VERY good.Â
Â
Overall Thoughts: Hip, y off weak, bunch nasty strg, y off trio weak and tight make this pretty darn good. May end up being a meta book. Â
