Madden 24 - Minnesota Vikings Playbook

The best formation in this playbook is going to be Singleback Bunch X Nasty so you definitely want to scheme around that. You have a Singleback Tight Y Off formation and SB Tight Doubles. Gun Tight Y Off and Tight Y Off Wk. Bunch TE as well which I explained in the Packers playbook could work well with Bunch X Nasty. Finally the Strong Close has a FB DIve and a Stretch now so definitely lab that up if you're in this playbook. I just wish they had all of the possible pass plays.

Litez's Top 3 Favorite Formations in Minnesota Vikings Playbook Madden 24

Singleback Bunch X Nasty - This is a formation I fell for as soon as I laid eyes on it during that Madden Patch Update when it was added to the game. This is a formation that fits the way I play to a tee. Out of respect to my guy Zan, I tried to stay away as long as possible. But this year I just like it too much for how the game plays and what routes you need. I'm pretty sure at some point I'll be running it, just not sure if it'll be right away or not. Hopefully I'll do a good job adding my own twist to it when I do.

Strong Close - I've tried to fight to get a Fullback Dive in this formation for the longest time. Since it was finally added into Madden 24, I now have to include it in my Top 3. Just wish they had all the best Passing plays. They do have Stretch to go with the FB Dive addition.

Gun Bunch TE - PA Boot Over will always be such a good Bomb / Roll Out play. Now Playaction's can't get spammed so you're going to have to mix up your route concepts with it some more. But the PA Boot Over / Triple Out, Inside Zone Combo is still full effect for Madden 24. Just mix this in with Bunch X Nasty and you should be good to go.

Thoughts & Analysis on the Minnesota Vikings Madden 24 Playbook

  •  SB Wing Close

Wing Close is a new formation that has some nice spacing.  With the run game, you have a flippable wide zone as well as a dive, so a three headed rushing attack could be nice.  The pass plays have double outs, which has both WR’s on speed outs, and the outside TE on a trail.  PA Cross, again, you have a compressed skinny post and a crosser from the opposite side.  You also have a deep corner by the Bunch WR.  You can motion out the RB to the solo WR side to create a unique 5 wide look and still protect.  A formation like this could be real fun once HRM drops.

  •  SB Bunch X Nasty

The Godfather playbook, this is a full Bunch X Nasty which could end up being a meta formation this year.  If you want to come out in two te’s, you could audible from X nasty to any of the two TE sets and have a nice UC scheme.  The general feeling amongst many is that these bunch nasty’s will be the meta formation this year.  The UC version offers a really nice run game and now, the ability to block the TE which it didn’t in years past.  There are so many crazy route combinations you can make.  There’s deep posts from each side, crossers, deep speed outs and ins.  Other than strong close, this is probably the best UC passing set in the game.  Can attack man or zone and protect and have a solid run game.

  •  SB Tight Doubles

This is a nice under center formation with some really crazy routes.  Think of Gun Tight Doubles out of the Steelers book, just under center.  Shallow cross has a skinny post on the weak side.  Motion him to the doubles side and you have a deep corner.  Pa Boot has a corner and post going the same way.  That post is a little deeper than we’d like, but can still be utilized best vs. man.  The play Under has crossers from both sides.  Main issue with this formation is a lack of run game.  Also, have to be careful of blocking heavy pressure.

  •  SB Tight Y Off

The tight y off is a great formation to audible to.  You have a flippable stretch and the best play is PA Bengals Leak.  Put the slot wr on the left on a streak.  Run it with the double WR’s to the short side and this play can crush zone and man for a one play score.

  •  Gun Tight Y Off and Y off Weak

The bread and butter of this playbook.  We’ll start with Tight Y off.  You have choice pivot return which has a corner and the TE on a pivot route.  Those pivots (inverted whip) may be really good this year.  You also have PA Go Slot Cross which was insane in M22.  With in breaking routes like crossers seemingly good again, this play could be a must have.  You also have flood drive and red zone scissors, which both have the iso WR on a post which attack sharper and deeper.  Tight Y off Weak has corners everywhere, pivots, and a compressed deep post.  It’s a quick audible from Y off and can attack every area of the field.  The TE is off the line and the rb is on his opposite side so protection should be great.  These two sets alone could be a scheme in and of itself.  The play spot y middle has a glitchy angle route by the TE.

  •  Bunch TE

PA Boot Over is going to be the hell money play people will go to on day one.  Maybe it won’t be as OP as it was in M22, but it’s going to be annoying.  This version has curl flat corner (MIDDLE WR on a deep corner), mesh (outside wr on a corner) and triple out which is a really great way to attach the sideline of the bunch side.  Also has inside zone and the RPO

Overall Thoughts:  the 3 WR sets are the way to go.  If you’re an UC player, bunch nasty to tight doubles to tight y off could be fun.  Having bunch te at your disposal is also really nice
